Don't even mention the word 'Shed'......

They turned up to deliver and erect the shed then realised it wouldn't go through the house.....apparently I should have told them that...........because I am an expert in shed delivery?  The original shed that measured 18ft by 12ft came in planks, it went through the window or the doors no problem, why should I imagine the new shed was coming in any different format?  They said 'It tells you on the website', we didn't use the website we went to their showroom.  We discussed the sheds there, we got an invoice from them, we had phone calls to discuss windows and doors but at no point did they ever discuss the subject of access to the garden.  We had an extension built that made our downstairs 53ft long with RSJ's and floorboards amongst other items used to build it, at no time was there an issue of access but a simple 12ft x 10ft shed...hmmm, if only we'd known.  I can't talk to them, Dave will have to be the diplomatic voice, I will scream at them, they will hear me all the way from Folkestone......

Causing a stir!

After Monday evening's successful meeting, with an attendance of over 100, there is a lot of unrest in the Ivory Towers that are Shepway District Council regarding the proposed Parking Strategy.   Phone calls are being made and sides are being taken.   It will be interesting to see who toes the party line and who listens to their constituents.  I for one am just delighted to see residents and businesses uniting together regardless of their political standing to fight against this ridiculous money making proposal.

A shed full of vintage, retro crap.....

The shed is being cleared out today to make way for a new one and it's amazing what type of crap has been stored in it.  I refuse to go into it due to monstrous hybrid spiders that I believe are looming in the rafters ready to pounce on my head as soon as I step foot through the door.  We have five video recorders and three old school stye 3G phones? I don't think Dave,(the hubby) appreciates me taking an interest in what's in there, he would rather I stayed in the house out of the way, ignorant of what delights he has found. I've been up there with a tape measure working out how much space will be left on the concrete once the slightly smaller shed has been erected, Dave is silently willing me to go away. I think I'm turning into my mum as my dad gives her the same looks.  My nephew, Dillon has been helping and having great fun on the wooden stilts that we found whilst Ciara, my youngest daughter, has been trying to take everything out of the boxes and bags thus helping Dave to become more stressed.  The demolishing of the shed should be starting soon, I shall take photos!

Hello world!

I'm very busy at the moment upsetting the Council by organising a public meeting to fight their proposed parking strategy, basically they follow Lesson 101 - How to Kill a Town Centre.  I think they expected us all to sit back and let them carry on without any protest, I'll leave that to the lemmings......

To be updated......
